Castellani Art Museum
With art as the catalyst, Castellani Art Museum brings people together to inspire dialogue, creativity, and learning.
At the center of the Niagara University campus, Castellani Art Museum (CAM) is dedicated to the enjoyment and educational potential of artistic creativity. As a major resource for the visual arts in Niagara County, the CAM's permanent collection includes over 5,000 pieces of mainly modern and contemporary art. The museum is committed to the professional care and preservation of this artwork.
In keeping with Niagara University's Vincentian mission, the museum recognizes and serves the varied communities of the Niagara region through the organization and presentation of exhibitions which honor and explore their artistic traditions and contemporary output. In addition to presenting diverse artistic expressions, the museum works in partnerships to explore and redefine the relationship between the museum and its constituencies through powerful programs.
As a university museum, the Castellani Art Museum serves the educational needs of the community, by working with Niagara University faculty on integrative learning projects for college students and providing art education programs for area schools and cultural organizations. The museum staff works with educators to develop art-based learning programs that help to promote critical thinking.
2025 Day of Giving Opportunity: Camp CAM Children's Sponsorships
CAM's Day of Giving will focus on supporting educational experiences at its long-standing arts Summer Camp program. For 20 years, Summer Camp, or "Camp CAM," as it has been renamed this year, provides local children with enriching visual arts and theater experience unlike any other summer experience! Campers enjoy hands-on art projects inspired by the Castellani Art Museum's rich collection and create their own unique theater performances. The camp lasts five weeks through mid-July into mid-August. Campers may choose to stay for one week or more. Most come for years in a row and move on to become Junior Counselors, helping new campers to learn!
Camp CAM Scholarships are transformative opportunities designed to provide economically disadvantaged children with the chance to attend a remarkable theater and arts summer camp. CAM staff believe in the power of creativity and self-expression, recognizing the profound impact it can have on a child's development, confidence, and future success. By removing the financial burden, CAM strives to create equal opportunities for all children to experience the magic of theater and arts education.
Last year, we received a record amount of scholarship requests. In an effort to best support kids' creativity and ensure all children have access, we are asking for funds to specifically assist with summer camp.
Suggested Sponsorship Levels:
$64 | Supports a child's camp experience for a day of summer camp
