Animal Rescue and Adoption
A Welcome Home Animal Rescue (AWHAR) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization created to help stray, homeless, injured and abandoned animals. We are a licensed rescue with the Department of Agriculture in Georgia. Our end goal is to place each animal we rescue in a permanent, loving home where they are treated as a family member. We believe every animal deserves humane treatment. We believe in our role as caretakers, protecting those who cannot defend themselves, speaking for those who cannot speak for themselves.
A Welcome Home Animal Rescue was established in 2009 in Atlanta, Georgia. Currently, the Atlanta Office rescues both dogs and cats. We have fosters who house our rescues while awaiting adoption. We have several wonderful but non-adoptable sanctuary cats who remain at our facility which is located in DeKalb County, Georgia. All rescues are fully vetted before they are placed in homes. All animals undergo a trial period. We are proud of our support to the rescue community over the last 14 years!
