Children removed from their home and placed into foster care often enter empty handed.

Did you know that on any given day, there are nearly 428,000 children in foster care in the United States?

As you would suspect these children have a story and a past, but were you aware that most of these children enter into foster care with only the clothing on their backs?

That leaves these children in an unfamiliar place surrounded by unfamiliar faces. Left having to ask these strangers for a toothbrush, shampoo, and clean clothes. We at Safe Haven are changing that uncomfortable situation with your help.

We developed a program like no other, our bags are unique and personalized for each age and gender.  We work with individual counties' family services departments as well as private organizations to hand deliver each and every bag donated. With new laws being placed to protect children and grants approved for counties to increase staffing that means there are more kids in need than ever before.

We want no child to enter foster care empty-handed.

Safe Haven Foster Shoppe is a tax-exempt 501(c)3 not-for-profit organization that provides essentials to children in foster care in Minnesota and Western Wisconsin. Safe Haven Foster Shoppe offers these items directly to the children through a network of private and county agencies; and directly with foster homes. Essential items can include backpacks/diaper bags, socks, underwear, clothing, pajamas, shoes, jackets, toiletries, blankets, school supplies, and entertainment items. Safe Haven Foster Shoppe receives support from individual donations, charitable organizations; and corporate sponsorships.
